Belye Rosy tournament to gather athletes from 4 countries in Grodno

GRODNO, 4 May (BelTA) – The international tournament Belye Rosy will gather in Grodno 130 gymnasts from four countries, BelTA learned from Director of Grodno Olympic Children's School No.3 Sergei Kushnerov.

The international rhythmic gymnastics tournament Belye Rosy will start on 4 May and will be held as part of the Grodno Rhythmic Gymnastics Open Championships. Taking part in the competitions will be athletes from Belarusian regions, and also cities of Russia, Ukraine and Estonia.

“The first tournament was held 10 years ago, when we saw that Grodno lacked regular competitions to invite foreign participants. Since then, Belye Rosy has become a high-status and popular event: sometimes there are more those who wish to take part than we can host,” noted Sergei Kushnerov. In his words, the countries' best athletes take part in such competitions as everyone is interested in receiving new experience.

“Different rhythmic gymnastics schools get an opportunity to show their best and compare themselves to others,” Sergei Kushnerov said. Belarusians, Russians, and Ukrainians are trendsetters in rhythmic gymnastics. The tournament discovers new starlets that shine brightly at other tournaments.

The competitions will take place on 4-6 May. Medal events will be held in several age groups. Belye Rosy and the Grodno Rhythmic Gymnastics Open Championships are organized by the education, sports and tourism department of the Grodno City Hall and Grodno Olympic Children's School No.3.
