Belteleradiocompany to air about 600 hours of video content about European Games

MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) - Being the main broadcaster of the 2nd European Games, Belteleradiocompany will show the maximum number of competitions, BelTA learned from the press service of the media company.

“Belteleradiocompany has launched TV and radio programs about the European Games. Viewers are in for dozens of various thematic projects. Live broadcasts of the opening and closing ceremonies will be available on Belarus 1 and all competitions featuring Belarusian athletes on Belarus 2 TV channels. Belarus 5 and Belarus 5. Internet will switch to 24/7 broadcasting during the games,” the press service said.

Minsk will host more than 4,000 athletes, about 2,000 coaches and service staff of 50 European national teams. This year's biggest sporting event will be broadcast to almost every continent; the expected TV audience is half a billion viewers. An international team will be working to cover the European Games.

Belteleradiocompany plans to broadcast about 600 hours of video content during the European Games and to deploy practically all the staff, including sports commentators and special correspondents, producers, camera operators and technicians. The media company has accumulated expensive experience in covering high-profile events, as it provide coverage of the Olympic Games, Eurovision Junior Song Contest 2018 in Minsk and the IBU Open European Championships in Raubichi in 2019.

Belteleradiocompany's mobile TV station Aleksandryna and four modern broadcast vans Eufrasinnya, Yanina, Ragneda and Paulina will help cover the 2nd European Games. For example, TV cameras will be installed on helicopters and bikes during cycling events.

The Belteleradiocompany camera crew is covering the Flame of Peace route. Belarus 1 TV channel has launched the Our Games project as part of the Panorama TV show. The project provides information on the preparations for the competitions, including accommodation and catering, equipment, foreign language courses and merchandise manufacturing. The new project Team Belarus will tell the audience about the rules and the national team across every sport. Another project has already got TV viewers familiar with the main venues of the forthcoming competitions. The weekly highlights show Igry.by provides the latest news on the multi-sport forum.

The broadcasting at the Minsk sport facilities will also feature interviews with coaches, athletes, champions and medalists of the Games.

The 2nd European Games will take place in Minsk on 21-30 June.
