Belarusian biathletes leave for Pyeongchang

MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) – Belarusian biathletes have left for Pyeongchang to take part in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, BelTA has learned.

The final training camps for the Belarusian biathletes were held in Hochfilzen, Austria (women) and in Antholz, Italy (men). On 31 January the Belarusian national team met in Munich to travel to Seoul through Abu Dhabi.

The official training sessions at the Alpensia Ski Resort in Pyeongchang will start on 2 February. Belarus' first group of the Belarusian delegation led by chief of the mission Alexander Baraulya have already prepared everything necessary to the athletes, completed accreditation for all the participants.

The Belarusian cross country and Alpine skiers, speed and short track skaters will go to Pyeongchang on 1 February. The Belarusian aerials team will be training in Bifuka, Japan through 8 February.

Belarus will field its athletes in six sports at the 23rd Winter Olympic Games.
