MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes are set to win two to three medals in every wrestling discipline at the 2nd European Games MINSK 2019, Chairman of the Belarusian Wrestling Federation Kamandar Madzhidov told a press conference at the press center SB. Belarus Segodnya Newspaper, BelTA has learned.
Kamandar Madzhidov stressed that in 2019 wrestlers will take part in three prestigious tournaments – the world championship, European Games and European championship. Every effort will be made to make sure Belarusian wrestlers perform to the top of their abilities in all events, Kamandar Madzhidov said. “The European Games is one of the main competitions next season. Many big-name athletes will come to Minsk. We look forward to two to three medals in each of three types of wrestling,” he noted.
Sport manager of the 2nd European Games Directorate Roman Markovsky stressed that the Palace of Sports, which will host the wrestling tournament at the European Games, will be renovated ahead of the upcoming event.
