Belarusian athletes in 14 finals of World Muay Thai Championships in Minsk

MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes will compete in 14 final bouts of the World Muay Thai Championships in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

Following the preliminary round that took place at the Palace of Sports throughout the previous week, competing for the gold medals of the World Muay Thai Championships will be Yelena Leshkevich (45kg), Lyudmila Chislova (48kg), Diana Yemelyanova (+75kg), Maksim Petkevich (63.5kg), Roman Dovnar (67kg), Dmitry Filippov (71kg), Karen Tumasyan (81kg), and Vladislav Shedko (+91kg).

The finals will also feature Dmitry Varets (67kg), Dmitry Valent (81kg), Denis Goncherenok (91kg).

One of the leaders of the Belarusian national team Andrei Kulebin had to miss out due to an injury. Vitaly Gurkov was defeated by Portugal's Diogo Calado in the -75kg division.

Sagif Gasanov (51kg), Nikolai Svedomsky (54kg), Andrei Gerasimchuk (+91kg), Veronika Sobol (67kg), Mariya Belush (-75kg), Artyom Vinnik (60kg) claimed bronze medals of the World Muay Thai Championships in Minsk.
