Belarus' Yekaterina Galkina clinches silver in Pesaro

MINSK, 1 September (BelTA) – Yekaterina Galkina of Belarus won silver with the Clubs at the ongoing 2017 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Pesaro, Italy, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian placed second with the total of 18,050. Dina Averina secured gold for Russia with 19,000 points. Bronze went to her sister Arina Averina (17,800 points). Alina Gornosko of Belarus finished seventh with 15,500 points.

No Belarusians reached the top eight with the Ribbon.

The silver medal is the first award in an individual event of world championships for Yekaterina Galkina. In 2015 she was second in the team standings in Stuttgart.

The sport forum will continue with the Individual All-Around Final on 1 September. Yekaterina Galkina reached the final stage in the fifth position (67,650 points), Alina Gornosko – in tenth (64,950).

The 2017 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Pesaro will be over on 3 September.
