Belarus' Yegor Gerasimov wins Saint Brieuc Challenger title

MINSK, 3 April (BelTA) – Yegor Gerasimov of Belarus won the ATP Challenger champion title in Saint Brieuc, BelTA has learned.

The world number 404, who battled through the qualifying, beat the tournament's number eight Tobias Kamke of Germany 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-5). The victory took the Belarusian player 141 spots up in the ATP rankings to the 263rd.

Roger Federer of Switzerland won the Miami Open on Sunday defeating Rafael Nadal of Spain 6-3, 6-4 in the final. Now, Roger Federer sits 4th in the rankings, with Rafael Nadal being 5th. Andy Murray of the UK is currently the world number one. Second is Serbia's Novak Djokovic, with Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland going third.
