MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) – Belarus has claimed medals in various age categories at the IDF World Youth Draughts-64 Championships that are underway in Kranevo, Bulgaria, BelTA has learned.
Vera Khvashchinskaya, 23, collected two gold medals in the rapid and blitz program. Marat Lev, 10, clinched the Rapid gold, Mikhail Semenyuk, 16, took the Blitz gold and Vladislav Valyuk, 19, won the Rapid gold.
Silver medals went to Alexander Spilin, Viktoriya Nikolayeva, Darya Nikiforova, Vladislav Valyuk. Bronze medals were collected by Mikhail Semenyuk, Alexandra Sinyak and Marat Lev.
Belarus has also claimed several Team medals.
The World Youth Draughts-64 Championships will complete on 2 September. Partaking in the competitions are more than 250 athletes from 17 countries.
