Belarus' Vitaly Zhuk clinches decathlon bronze in Berlin

MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – Vitaly Zhuk of Belarus won bronze in the men's 1,500m decathlon at the 2018 European Athletics Championships in Berlin, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian placed third with the total of 8,290m. Gold went to Germany's Arthur Abele (8,431 points). Russia's Ilya Shkurenev collected silver (8,321 points).

This is the third bronze medal won for Belarus at the 2018 European Athletics Championships. Dmitry Dyubin won bronze in the men's 50km speed walking, Aliona Dubitskaya claimed third place in the women's shot put.

The 2018 European Athletics Championships in Berlin will be over on 12 August.
