MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) – Three national football teams of Belarus will hold the FIFA World Cup and European Championship qualifiers on 10 October, BelTA has learned.
In the 2018 FIFA World Cup final qualifier Belarus will face France in Paris. In September 2010 Belarus beat France 1-0. In June 2011 the two teams drew at 1-1. At the start of this year's qualifying round Belarus and France played at 0-0. Belarus lost to France 1-3 in 2012 and 2-4 in 2013.
The current Group A standings are as follows: France – 20 points, Sweden – 19, the Netherlands – 16, Bulgaria – 12, Belarus – 5, Luxembourg – 5.
The Belarusian national U-21 team will face Moldova in the EUFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying in Borisov on 10 October. In the previous qualifier Belarus lost 1-2 to Croatia. Earlier, Belarus beat San Marino 1-0, drew with the Czech Republic 1-1, and lost to Greece 0-2. Moldova defeated San Marino 2-0, lost to Croatia 0-3 and Greece 1-5 and 0-2.
The first qualifying round standings: Greece – 9 points, Croatia – 6, Belarus – 4, Moldova – 3, the Czech Republic – 1, San Marino – 0.
The Belarusian junior national team will hold the final 2018 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifier against Northern Ireland in Chorzow Poland. Belarus has already lost their chances to advance to the next qualifying round after losing to Germany 1-5 and Poland 0-3.
