Belarus' NOC to hold Olympic meeting 30 May

MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – The Olympic meeting of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus will take place in Minsk on 30 May, BelTA learned from the NOC press service.

The meeting will elect a new president, first vice president and vice presidents of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus, and also members of the NOC Executive Committee. Participants will discuss the issues related to the introduction of amendments and additions to the charter of the Belarusian NOC, consider the report of the review board on the activity of the National Olympic Committee in 2013-2016 and other organizational matters.

Special attention will be attached to the preparation of Belarusian athletes for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang and the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. The meeting will also discuss problems and prospects of the Belarusian sports industry.

Belarus claimed one gold, four silver and four bronze medals in the 2016 Rio Games. In the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi Belarus won five gold (including three gold medals by biathlete Darya Domracheva) and one bronze medals.
