Belarus names team for 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships

MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – The coaching staff of the Belarusian national team led by Yuri Moisevich have decided on a squad to represent the country at the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships that will be running in Doha, Qatar from 27 September to 6 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee.

The Belarusian team will feature 28 athletes, including Tatsiana Khaladovich (javelin throw), Maksim Nedasekau (high jump), Iryna Zhuk (pole vault), Elvira Herman (100m hurdles) and Nastassia Mironchyk-Ivanova (long jump).

According to the press service of the National Olympic Committee, Alina Talay (100m hurdles) will miss the competitions in Doha due to an injury.

Belarusian athletes did not won medals at the 2017 IAAF World Athletics Championships in London. In 2015, Belarus won one gold and one bronze medals in Beijing.
