Belarus' Irina Prosentsova wins Budapest Indoor International

MINSK, 30 January (BelTA) – Belarusian pentathlete Irina Prosentsova claimed first place at the UIPM Budapest Indoor International, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian finished third in fencing, and showed her best in the final combined event of pistol shooting and a 3200m cross-country run, scoring the total of 1,370 points. Sarolta Kovacs of Hungary placed second with 1,347 points. Bronze went to Hungary's Anna Toth with 1339 points.

Tatyana Khaldoba of Belarus made it to the top ten of the tournament, placing sixth in the overall standings, with 1314 points.

In the men's event, Pavel Tikhonov of Belarus finished 6th with the total of 1463 points. The Belarusian was 28 points behind the winner, Bence Demeter of Hungary (1491 points). Silver went to France's Simon Casse (1472 points). Hungary's Istvan Malits scored 1472 points to take bronze.
