Belarus in top ten at 2018 UCI Track Cycling World Championships

MINSK, 5 March (BelTA) – Team Belarus placed in top ten at the medal table of the 2018 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, BelTA informs.

Belarus secured 8th position thanks to Yauheni Karaliok's gold in the men's Scratch Race. A total of 12 Belarusian athletes (eight men and four women) competed in the world sports forum.

Netherlands with five gold, five silver and two bronze medals topped the medal table of the world championships. Second was Germany with four gold and two bronze medals. The UK finished third with two gold, three silver and one bronze medals.

The competitions featured 20 medal events.

The 2019 UCI Track Cycling World Championships will take place in Pruszkow, Poland.
