MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – Ilya Shimanovich of Belarus finished 8th in the men's 50m breaststroke final at the 2018 European Aquatics Championships in Glasgow, BelTA informs.
One of the leaders of the Belarusian national team clocked 27.32 seconds. Adam Peaty of the UK set a record of 26.09 seconds to take gold. Silver went to Italy's Fabio Scozzoli (26.79), bronze to Peter John Stevens from Slovenia (27.06). Ilya Shimanovich is a holder of Belarus' national record in the discipline, which is 26.86 seconds.
The 2018 European Aquatics Championships in Glasgow will be over on 9 August.
