Belarus draws with Azerbaijan, Macedonia, Georgia in UEFA Nations League

MINSK, 8 December (BelTA) - The seedings for the inaugural UEFA Nations League draw on 24 January in Lausanne have been set by the UEFA Executive Committee, BelTA has learned.

Belarus will play in League D against Azerbaijan, Macedonia and Georgia in Pot 1. Pot 2 will include Armenia, Latvia, Faroe Islands, and Luxembourg. Pot 3 will feature Kazakhstan, Moldova, Lichtenstein, and Malta. Pot 4 will comprise Andorra, Kosovo, San Marino, and Gibraltar.

The group stage will last from September 2018 to November 2019. The winners of the quarters will face each other in the playoff for the UEFA Euro 2020 berth.

The 55 participating teams are split according to their position in the UEFA National Team Coefficient Rankings following the end of the European Qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The format of the UEFA Nations League will feature promotion and relegation.
