MINSK, 28 September (BelTA) - The Belarusian national men's table tennis team went off to a good start in the ETTU European Championships Team Qualification securing a solid win over Israel 3-0 in the first qualification game in Group D, BelTA has learned.
Leader of the Belarusian team Vladimir Samsonov defeated Simon Matton 3-1 before Pavel Platonov edged Michael Tauber 3-2. Alexander Khanin saw off Ben Ari Omri 3-1 to blank Israel.
Belarus will next take on Croatia on 1 November. Then the Belarusians will go to Israel on 13 December and wrap up the qualification round with a home game against Croatia on 24 January 2017.
