MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – Arina Sobolenko beat Viktorija Golubic 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 to secure an overall victory for Belarus over Switzerland, 3-2, in the Fed Cup semifinal tie at Chizhovka Arena, BelTA has learned.
Earlier on the day, Aleksandra Sasnovich defeated Timea Bacsinszky 6-3, 7-6 (7-2).
On the first matchday, Aleksandra Sasnovich saw off Viktorija Golubic 6-3, 5-7, 7-5, while Timea Bacsinszky beat Arina Sobolenko 6-4, 7-5.
Olga Govortsova and Vera Lapko lost 0-6, 1-6 to Martina Hingis and Belinda Bencic in the dead rubber.
Belarus will play the United States in the Fed Cup final on 11-12 November.
