Belarus beat Slovakia in ETTU European Teams Championships Qualifications

MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – Vladimir Samsonov's two victories helped the Belarusians defeat Slovakia 3-2 in the ETTU European Teams Championships Qualifications, BelTA has learned.

The leader of the Belarusian national team beat Samuel Novota 3-1 and Lubomir Pistej 3-2. Pavel Platonov added another point seeing off Samuel Novota 3-1. Pavel Platonov lost to Lubomir Pistej 0-3, and Alexander Khanin lost to Alexander Valuch 2-3.

In the first round Belarus took a confident win over Ukraine 3-0. Belarus will host Ukraine once again on 2 October and wrap up the qualifications against Slovakia on 4 December.

The Belarusian women's team blanked Russia 3-0 in the first match and then lost 3-0 to Sweden in Minsk. On 2 October Belarus will host Russia once again and hold the final match against Sweden on 4 December.

The final stage will gather 16 best teams in Nantes, France in September 2019.
