Belarus beat Serbia at 2018 EHF European Men's Handball Championship

MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – Belarus finished its 2018 EHF European Men's Handball Championship run with a victory over Serbia in Croatia on 24 January, BelTA informs.

The Belarusians dominated throughout the game to secure a 32-27 win. Among the scorers for Belarus were Boris Pukhavsky, Andrei Yurinok, Denis Rutenko, Vadim Gaiduchenko, Alexander Podshivalov, Artyom Korolek and Artur Karvatsky.

The Belarusian team took two victories at the championship: 27-26 in the opener against Austria and 32-27 against Serbia on 24 January. In the first group stage Belarus lost 28-33 to Norway and 25-32 to France. In the second group stage Belarus was defeated by Croatia 23-25 and Sweden 20-29.

The Group I standings are as follows: France – 10 points, Sweden - 6, Croatia - 6, Norway - 6, Belarus - 2, Serbia - 0.

The Group II standings are the following: Denmark - 8, Spain - 6, Czech Republic - 5, Slovenia - 4, Germany - 4, Macedonia - 3.

The semifinals are scheduled for 26 January. The medal games will be played on 28 January.
