Belarus advance to EuroHockey Championship II 2017 Women semifinal

MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Belarus beat Wales 4-2 to reach the semifinal of the EuroHockey Championship II 2017 Women, BelTA has learned.

Belarus controlled its Group B final game from start to end. Rita Batura, Svetlana Bogushevich, Yulia Mikheichik and Natalia Shtin scored for Belarus. Earlier, Belarus defeated Poland 2-0 and blanked Austria 5-0.

In the semifinal Belarus will take on Italy, second best team in Group A, on 11 August. The other semifinal will see Russia against Wales.

The final is scheduled for 12 August. Two teams that reach the EuroHockey Championship II 2017 Women final will join the elite division.
