Belarus 91st in FIFA rankings

MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) - The Belarusian national football team lost 14 positions to place 91st in the October rankings of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), BelTA has learned.

Over the past month Igor Kriushenko's team has played two final 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, losing 1-3 to the Netherlands and 1-2 to France. Now Belarus holds 391 points. Belarus will next play against Armenia, ranked 90th in the world, in Yerevan on 9 November.

FIFA Top 10 for October:

1. Germany – 1,631 points

2. Brazil – 1,619

3. Portugal – 1,446

4. Argentina – 1,445

5. Belgium – 1,333

6. Poland – 1,323

7. France – 1,226

8. Spain – 1,218

9. Chile – 1,173

10. Peru – 1,160.

Ukraine is ranked highest among the post-Soviet states (30th).

The next FIFA rankings will be published on 23 November.
