MINSK, 27 November (BelTA) – Belarus finished 11th in the mixed relay at BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 1 in Oestersund, Sweden, BelTA has learned.
Nadezhda Skardino and Darya Domracheva had a good start. The three-time Olympic champion tagged Sergei Bocharnikov in sixth. The Belarusian, however, lost in speed on the track to the biathlon leaders. Spare rounds dispersed Belarus' hopes for the podium. The Belarusian team placed 11th in the overall standings, 2:40.9 behind the winner.
The Norwegian team of Ingrid Tandrevold, Tiril Eckhoff, Johannes Thingnes Boe and Emil Hegle Svendsen won the first mixed relay of the season in 1:11:31.7. Italy finished second, 5.3 seconds back, with one penalty and five spares. Third went to Germany with ten spares, 6.4 seconds back.
