MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) – BC Tsmoki Minsk officially confirmed its participation in the 2016-2017 season of the VTB United League on 29 June, the basketball club told BelTA.
The Minsk Dragons will spend the seventh year competing with the best teams of Eastern Europe. Since 2010 Tsmoki Minsk has beaten such well-known teams as Zalgiris Kaunas, UNICS Kazan, and Nizhny Novgorod. The previous season became the most successful one for the Minsk Dragons over the team's years in the VTB tournament. Igor Grishuk's men took nine victories to finish 12th among 16 teams.
The final roster and the format of the new VTB United League championship will be announced in late July following a special meeting of representatives of all teams of the league in Moscow.
