MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) – Former world number one Victoria Azarenka of Belarus had to fight hard to overcome Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland in the first round of the Mallorca Open on 19 June, 6-7(4), 6-3, 7-5, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian will take on No. 7 seed Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic in the second round
In the doubles Victoria Azarenka and Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia lost to American duo of Christian Kaitlyn and Sabrina Santamaria 2-6, 3-6.
