Azarenka through to Rogers Cup second round

MINSK, 8 August (BelTA) – Victoria Azarenka of Belarus beat France's Kristina Mladenovic 6-0 6-1 in the Rogers Cup opener in Montreal, BelTA informs.

The Belarusian will next face Johanna Konta of the UK.

After the match Victoria Azarenka, who had to retire in San Jose due to back problems, said she was better.

During the postgame press conference Victoria Azarenka was asked whether it is difficult to combine motherhood and professional career. The tennis player stressed that it is not easy. She said she tries to spend every idle moment with her son Leo. “I would like to set an example and show him how it is important to be hardworking, disciplined and determined for your dream,” Victoria Azarenka said.
