MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) – Belarus tennis players Victoria Azarenka and Vera Lapko have improved their positions in the WTA rankings, BelTA has learned.
Victoria Azarenka jumped up 13 spots to place 95th. Last week the Belarusian reached the 2018 San Jose quarterfinal. Vera Lapko moved up from 69th to 66th place. Aliaksandra Sasnovich lost one spot moving to 36th. Aryna Sabalenka moved down from 36th to 39th place.
Two Belarusian tennis players will play at the 2018 Rogers Cup in Montreal this week. Victoria Azarenka has received a wild card and will play Kristina Mladenovic in the opener. Aryna Sabalenka will face Ana Bogdan of Romania. The games will be played on 7 August.
