MINSK, 11 July (BelTA) – Belarusian Victoria Azarenka lost to Romanian Simona Halep in the Wimbledon fourth round on 10 July, BelTA has learned.
Victoria had plenty of chances early in the opening set having broken twice. However, the Romanian player fought back on each occasion, ever increasing her level of game as she ultimately claimed a 7-6 (7-3) 6-2 victory, aided by numerous unforced errors from the Belarusian.
The Romanian faces Great Britain's Johanna Konta (6) in the Wimbledon quarterfinals.
