Arina Sobolenko out of Citi Open

MINSK, 4 August (BelTA) – Arina Sobolenko of Belarus has completed her run at the Citi Open in Washington, BelTA has learned.

Following her sensational victory 7-5, 6-3 over world number 34 Lauren Davis of the United States, the Belarusian world number 121 lost to Sabine Lisicki of Germany (World No.190) 6-4, 3-6, 3-6 in the round of last 16.

In Lexington world number 241 Vera Lapko cruised to the quarterfinal after defeating New Zealand's Erin Routliffe (1164) 6-4, 6-1. In the opener the Belarusian battled through world number 270 Jennifer Elie of the United States 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.

Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Austria's Philipp Oswald will fight for the final berth against Argentine's Guillermo Duran and Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay at the Generali Open in Kitzbuhel, Austria. In the second semifinal Andrei Vasilevsky of Belarus and Hans Podlipnik Castillo of Chile will face the Austrian-Dutch duo of Julian Knowle and Matwe Middelkoop.
