Anastasiya Huchok secures bronze for Belarus at 2019 Military World Games

MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – Belarus' Anastasiya Huchok won bronze in the Freestyle Women 62kg event at the 7th CISM World Games 2019 which are underway in Wuhan, China on 18-27 October, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian blanked Kornelija Zaicevaite of Lithuania 9-0 in the opener. Then she lost to Russia's Mariia Kuznetsova 0-4 and had to go through repechage. The other bronze went to Lais Oliveira of Brazil. Gyong Mun Hyon of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea celebrated a champion title. Silver was collected by Mariia Kuznetsova of Russia.

Anastasiya Kanashevich of Belarus placed ninth in the Freestyle Women 53kg event that was won by Hwa Yon Jo of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Suzana Georgiana Seicariu of Romania clinched silver, while bronze medals went to Germany's Nina Hemmer and Russia's Milana Dadasheva.

Earlier, Belarusian freestyle wrestler Aliaksandr Hushtyn secured a 97kg silver, Kseniya Stankevich of Belarus clinched bronze going through repechage in the women's 50kg event.

More than 9,300 military athletes from 109 countries are competing in 27 sports at the 2019 Military World Games. Belarus has fielded 97 athletes at the games.
