MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) – Minsk is hosting the 2018 FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup quarterfinals on 27 July, BelTA has learned.
The first quarterfinal match at Falcon Club is scheduled for 16.30. The defending champion Australia will face Italy. France will take on Latvia at the Palace of Sports at 18.00. The United States will play Spain at Falcon Club at 18.45. Japan will go against Hungary at the Palace of Sports at 20.30.
Belarus will face New Zealand in the Palace of Sports at 15.30 in the repechage for the 9-16th places. Viktoria Datsun's team placed 3rd in Preliminary Group A defeating Colombia 79-75 and losing to Japan 52-104 and France 34-64. In the round of Last 16 Belarus fell to Italy 50-65. New Zealand suffered three defeats in Group C: to Spain 48-83, Hungary 60-86 and Argentine 52-60, and lost to Australia 37-77 in the round of Last 16.
The repechage will also include Angola vs China (Falcon Club; 12.00), Argentine-Mali (Palace of Sports; 13.00), Canada-Colombia (Falcon Club, 14.15).
