Zapad 2017 website to be launched on 12 September

MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – A special website dedicated to the joint strategic exercise of the Armed Forces of Belarus and Russia Zapad 2017 will be launched on 12 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Defense Ministry.

The website will provide all relevant information regarding Zapad 2017, and also photos and videos.

Full, accurate and timely information about the exercise will be provided by the media outlets, including “The Belarusian military newspaper. Vo slavu rodiny”, the website of the Defense Ministry, TV news broadcasts and TV programs “Arsenal” and “Anfas” on the national TV channels. The exercise will be covered by media representatives from dozens of countries. According to the latest data, about 150 media representatives have been accredited with the Defense Ministry.

The Zapad 2017 exercise is open. A large number of observers have been invited. Invitations have been sent to international organizations such as the UN, OSCE, NATO, CIS, CSTO, ICRC and also the military-diplomatic corps accredited in the embassies of foreign states in Belarus. The Belarusian Defense Ministry also expects military observers from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Estonia, Sweden and Norway. All in all, more than 80 people have been invited.

Zapad 2017 will be conducted on 14-20 September in Belarus and in Russia (Luzhsky, Strugi Krasnye and Pravdinsky ranges).
