MOGILEV, 5 January (BelTA) – The patients of the Mogilev Oblast Children's Hospital received New Year's gifts from the Belarusian president on 5 January, BelTA has learned.
Natalya Zhukova, Deputy Health Minister - Chief Sanitary Doctor of Belarus, handed out goody bags to the young patients of the surgical unit, the orthopaedics and traumatology departments.
Natalya Zhukova talked to the children and their parents, wished them a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas,. “I got the warmest impressions of my meeting with kids. When I was giving gifts, their eyes were radiant with gratitude and happiness. Due to the circumstances the children have to spend the holidays in the medical establishment. Nevertheless, they are surrounded with love and attention. The children believe in the New Year, they wait for the holiday and their dreams come true, including thanks to charity campaigns. I am grateful and honored to perform such an honorable mission and bring joy to the children,” Natalya Zhukova said.
She also visited the Mogilev specialized orphanage for children with central nervous system lesions and gave them New Year's gifts from the Belarusian president.
The nationwide Our Children charity campaign is running in Belarus from 11 December 2017 through 10 January 2018. Heads of the national government bodies, local executive and regulatory agencies visit children's boarding schools, foster families, children's hospitals, bring presents and provide assistance. The campaign is held under the aegis of the President of Belarus.More about Society
