BEIJING, 4 July (BelTA - People's Daily) - The world's largest indoor ski resort was officially opened in Harbin, northeastern China's Heilongjiang on July 3.
The resort has six trails of varying length and difficulty with an 80-meter vertical drop at the end. The longest trail is 500 meters in length. The resort can accommodate as many as 3,000 people.
The resort has the most trails, the largest vertical drop, the longest trail, and the largest capacity among the world's indoor ski resorts. It is even larger than the Ski Dubai Snowpark, and more steel was used in its construction than the Beijing National Stadium.
The resort's exterior is in the shape of a giant red piano, making an eye-catching landmark of the city. Besides the ski trails, the resort also offers a 10,000-square-meter area for snow entertainment programs.
With an ice rink built in accordance with international standards, the resort will be able to hold both international ice tournaments and popular ice sports activities.
