MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) – Preventive work to combat extremism in Belarus is effective, political analyst Vadim Borovik said in an interview with the ONT TV channel on 22 March, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus conducts effective preventive work to neutralize any extremist groups,” Vadim Borovik remarked.
Under the Belarusian legislation, the punishment for any paramilitary activity, preparation, planning, agitation to mass disorder is quite harsh. The work of the country's security services is well-coordinated. The most important thing, however, is that the Belarusians do not want a revolution and will not allow it. “We want only peaceful and legal events. We want political, economic or social changes to happen in an evolutionary rather than a revolutionary way,” Vadim Borovik noted.
