Vitebsk, Russia's Beloyarsky District sign agreement on cooperation in local self-government

VITEBSK, 11 September (BelTA) - Vitebsk and Beloyarsky District of Rusisa's Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra signed an agreement on cooperation in local self-government, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Vitebsk City Council of Deputies Vladimir Belevich.

The document was signed by the chairmen of the the Vitebsk City Council of Deputies and Beloyarsky District Duma during the celebrations to mark the Beloyarsky District Day which the delegation of the Belarusian regional center was invited to attend.

“The agreement complements the twinning document we signed last year. It is aimed at deepening interaction, facilitating the exchange of experience of the local self-government bodies, and also opens up more opportunities for the implementation of joint projects in economy,” Vladimir Belevich said. In particular, the business community of the Russian district showed a strong interest in the work of Vitebsk construction organizations. “We also discussed the possibility of opening retail outlets of famous Vitebsk shoe manufacturers Belwest and Marko in Beloyarsky District,” Vladimir Belevich added.
