Visa-free stay in Belarus may be extended to ten days

MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – The duration of visa-free stay in Belarus may be extended to ten days, First Deputy Head of the Citizenship and Migration Department at the Belarusian Interior Ministry Vitaly Naumchik told the media on 11 August, BelTA has learne.

In his words, the Interior Ministry is busy working on the extension of visa-free stay together with the government bodies concerned. “In a year's time since the launch of the visa-free entry, we will consider its pros and cons. I think, we will arrive at some common conclusion. If we go by the initiative of the Interior Ministry to extend the registration-free stay in Belarus to ten days, then we may extend the visa-free stay to ten days as well. In the meantime, we are working on providing the electronic registration service for foreigners together with the National Center for Electronic Services.

BelTA reported earlier that there are plans to extend the duration of registration-free stay in Belarus from five to ten days. This measure is envisaged in the bill drafted by the Interior Ministry on amendments and additions to the law on the legal status of foreign citizens in Belarus.
