DUBAI, 15 March (BelTA - Xinhua) - U.S. auto giant GMC set a new Guinness World Record for the largest parade of cars during the five-day Gulf Arab Traffic Week in Abu Dhabi, the GMC said Thursday.
A total of 191 GMC vehicles gathered to form a four-km-long parade on the famous Formula One race track in the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the GMC said in an emailed statement.
The parade was led by a 2018 6.0L V8 GMC Sierra Denali, which pulled a 30-meter flag displaying a photo of late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, the founder of the UAE, as 2018 has been designated as the Year of Zayed in the Gulf state.
The Gulf Arab Traffic Week ended on Thursday.
The UAE, a major oil supplier, is home to several world records.
Dubai, the largest emirate in the UAE, boasts the world's tallest mixed-use tower, the 829-meter-tall Burj Khalifa, and the world's tallest hotel, the 356-meter-tall Gevora Hotel which opened in February.
In Abu Dhabi, the world's largest reserve of artificially desalinated water was unveiled in January, while the Capital Gate building, with a lean of 18 degrees, remains the world's furthest leaning man-made tower.
