Union State prize winners to help form program of Belarus-Russia Union Day

VITEBSK, 13 July (BelTA) – There are plans to invite Union State prize laureates to help form the program of the Day of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. The information was released by Deputy State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Nikolai Korbut during the press conference held on 13 July to discuss the organization of the Union State Day as part of the international art festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, BelTA has learned.

Nikolai Korbut stressed: “Together with colleagues, our creative intellectuals we will definitely work on diversifying the creative part of the program of the Union State Day during Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk. Winners of the Union State prizes for literature and art will help saturate the program with new creative projects.” He added that he was not yet ready to offer his vision of the novelties, which were supposed to be implemented. “First of all, I would like to get a complete impression of the entire day today,” he said.

The official talked about his impressions of Vitebsk. “A good, warm, and recognizable city. It grows more beautiful and cozier every year thanks to the festival,” he remarked.

Union State prizes for literature and art for the 2017-2018 period have been bestowed upon People's Artist of Russia, composer Oleg Ivanov, the author team consisting of People's Artist of Russia, conductor Valery Polyansky and Honorary Worker of Culture of Russia Alexandra Shanina, upon USSR People's Artist, choreographer Valentin Yelizaryev. Chairman of the Supreme State Council, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko bestowed the awards upon the laureates during the opening ceremony of the international art festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk on 12 July.
