Union State awards presented at Slavianski Bazaar

VITEBSK, 17 July (BelTA) - Special diplomas of the Union State Standing Committee “For Creative Embodiment of Ideas of Friendship of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia” were presented at the 26th International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk on 15 July, BelTA has learned.

The awards ceremony took place during the concert by the Syabry band which became the fitting finale to the Day of the Union State at the festival. The diplomas and prizes were presented to Director of Belarus' National Art Museum Vladimir Prokoptsov, the staff of the Ilya Repin museum in Zdravnevo, Russian composer, actor and singer Gleb Matveychuk and People's Artist of Russia Lev Leshchenko.

A message of greetings to the guests and participants of the festival from Chairman of the Belarus-Russia Union State PA, Speaker of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin was read out during the concert. The awards to the winners were presented by State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota. He noted that the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk is a project that promotes friendship, unites peoples and prevents conflicts.

In response, Lev Leshchenko stressed that it was an honor to receive this award and to be at the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk. The peoples of Belarus and Russia are connected by the unbreakable bonds of friendship, added the artist.

The concert program illustrating the friendship between Russia and Belarus featured Syabry, actor Vladimir Gostyukhin, Alesya, Anatoly Yarmolenko Jr., Piotr Yelfimov, Gleb Matveychuk, Ruslan Alekhno, Tamara Gverdtsiteli, Lev Leshchenko, and many other artists.
