Two armed Russians apprehended in Mogilev District

MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) – Two Russian Federation citizens with weapons were apprehended in Mogilev District, representatives of the Belarusian Interior Ministry told BelTA.

A Lada Granta car with two Russian Federation citizens inside was stopped on a motorway near the village of Zhukovo, Mogilev District by officers of the Security Services Department (Okhrana) of Mogilev's Leninsky District at 16:00 on 24 March. The Russian citizens are residents of Bryansk. Both were born in 1992. They are employees of the Kremny El factory.

The car contained two air pistols, two starting pistols, two portable radio stations, a flashlight equipped with an electric shocker, five plastic containers with 4.5mm metal rounds for air guns, a gas bottle for gas spray weapons, twelve 5.6mm rounds for starter weapons, a rubberized metal stick with spikes, a traffic police reflective vest, a baton, a jacket with the Russian Federation Emergencies Ministry identification mark, three balaclavas, two sets of protective gear for motorcyclists, and a Ukrainian flag.

The detained said they were travelling from Bryansk to Brest for a sightseeing tour.

The detained were delivered to the Mogilev City Police Department for an investigation.
