Trucks with Russian license plates may face problems on Belarus-Ukraine border

MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – Russian long-distance truckers may encounter problems when traveling from Belarus to Ukraine, spokesman for the Belarusian State Border Committee Alexander Tishchenko told BelTA.

On 11 February, Ukrainian activists announced their plans to stop all trucks with Russian license plates in Ukraine's Volyn Oblast. In particular, there may be problems near the village of Gorniki on the Domanovo-Terebleche highway.

“The State Border Committee is taking all necessary measures to settle this matter with the Ukrainian side. We hope that drivers will keep this in mind when planning their itineraries, and will also check our website for information on queues at border checkpoints,” Alexander Tishchenko said.

He added that the truck traffic across Belarus' border with the Baltic countries is very heavy. There are queues in both directions almost at all border checkpoints.
