BIHAĆ, 3 August (BelTA - FENA) - Three people were killed today in the accident in the ‘Una – Kostela' hydro power plant near Bihać, while the fourth person was hospitalized at Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić Cantonal Hospital and is in difficult condition.
The accident was most likely caused by natural gas leakage.
Just after 1 pm, the police station in Bihać received a call from the security guard at the HPP in Kostela.
The guard said that an accident occurred in the complex of the HPP and that there were injured persons.
“After arriving at the site of the accident, the police confirmed that there was a gas leak inside the facility, where workers of ‘Elektrodistribucija BiH' (power distribution company) most likely have been working on the overhaul of the plant.
Later on, it was established that three persons died while the fourth one was transported to the Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić Cantonal Hospital and is in difficult condition.
Police officers and the Fire Brigade of Bihać are currently at the site conducting an investigation,” said Adnan Beganovic, spokesperson of the Una-Sana Canton Ministry of Interior.
