MOGILEV, 28 February (BelTA) – The Year of Native Land will give a boost to the culture in the regions, Belarus' Culture Minister Yuri Bondar told BelTA.
“The concept of native land evokes warm and positive emotions associated with home, family, schoolmates and first life experiences. This is a good stimulus to do something good for the place you were born,” Yuri Bondar said.
According to the minister, this may not be only financial assistance or help in addressing some issues. This is a good opportunity to remember the traditions of the native land, the fairy tales of your Grandma.
“The age of globalization may result in the loss of the national identity. The task of culture is to save the identity of the Belarusian people and pass it on to our descendants. Every citizen of our country can make a contribution to this process. I believe that the Year of Native land will give a boost to the culture in the regions,” Yuri Bondar said.
