Sweden to allocate €11m for environmental projects in Belarus in 2018

MOGILEV, 21 February (BelTA) – Sweden will allocate €11 million for the implementation of environmental projects in Belarus in 2018, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Belarus Christina Johannesson told the media on 21 February. The diplomat is on a three-day trip to Mogilev Oblast, BelTA has learned.

“The majority of the projects that are to be implemented this year in different regions of Belarus will be about water discharge and water treatment,” the diplomat said.

The parties have been actively discussing cooperation in household waste recycling as well. “We are currently considering the possibility to continue cooperation in the area, and I am confident that in the near future Mogilev Oblast will suggest concrete projects and Sweden will support them,” Christina Johannesson said.
