MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – Lake Naroch and Grodno have become my most favorite tourist places in Belarus, Russia's Ambassador Alexander Surikov told a press conference in Minsk on 7 February, BelTA has learned.
“It is impossible to visit all the spots, but, of course, I have favorite places to visit. These are Lake Naroch and Grodno together with its Augustow Canal. I like this city very much,” Alexander Surikov said.
The diplomat noted that this oblast center is probably the only one in Belarus that has preserved its architectural identity and almost all its historical monuments. “This is largely thanks to the fact that it suffered less during the Great Patriotic War. The city continues to preserve all its beauty, including the houses of famous people who lived there once,” he said.
