Statistics agencies of Belarus, Bulgaria agree on all-round cooperation

MINSK, 20 July (BelTA) – The National Statistics Committee of Belarus and the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria have agreed to develop comprehensive cooperation and exchange best practices in digitization. The corresponding agreement was signed by Chairwoman of the Belarusian Statistics Committee Inna Medvededva and President of the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria Sergey Tsvetarsky in Minsk on 19 July, BelTA has learned from the Belarusian National Statistics.

The parties expressed mutual interest in expanding the exchange of information and enhancing interaction. They agreed on cooperation in such areas as methodology of statistical observations, classifications, registers, the system of national accounts, business statistics, price statistics, social, employment and unemployment statistics, population statistics and census, information technology, regional statistics, distribution of statistical information.

The Belarusian-Bulgarian cooperation envisages the exchange of publications on methodological and special issues of statistical observations, specialized publications and publications on the socio-economic situation and its development. The parties agreed to exchange experience in the use of information technology, information on new methods and best practices and the adaptation of statistical methods to the requirements of modern society. In the future, the parties may also cooperate in the development of joint projects in the field of statistical observations, advance cooperation in the preparation and organization of the population census, participate in international programs, projects, and staff training.
