St. Petersburg students to help build dormitory in Minsk

MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – A student construction brigade from Saint Petersburg will help erect a dormitory in the Student Village in Minsk, BelTA learned from head of the Employment Staff of the Minsk Office of the BRSM Youth Union Sergei Rukan.

The Revival construction brigade will include 15 students of the Saint Petersburg State University of Economics. They will team up with Belarusian specialists to build a dormitory in the Student Village in the Belarusian capital. This facility was declared the youth construction project. The Russian students will stay here till 25 August, Sergei Rukan informed.

The young people will perform a number of auxiliary functions: they will clean the site from construction waste, dismantle riggers and installation tools. They will also be offered a diverse entertainment program. “We will take then on an excursion around Minsk when they will arrive, on 15 July,” Sergei Rukan said.

At the same time, students from Minsk will work on construction sites in Saint Petersburg and neighboring locations.

The annual exchange of student construction brigades is envisaged by agreements between the Minsk City Council of Deputies and the Saint Petersburg Legislative Assembly.
