Spring school holidays program to feature Year of Native Land, European Games events in Belarus

MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) –The program of the spring school holidays in Belarus will feature events to celebrate the Year of Native Land and the 2nd European Games, Larisa Yemelyanchik, a consultant with the main department of educational work and youth policy at Belarus' Education Ministry, told journalists, BelTA has learned.

The spring school holidays will last from 25 till 31 March. “During the holidays, students will not only rest and improve their health but also take part in our major projects. Needless to say that in the Year of Native Land we focus on civil and national educational events such as the Belarus Remembers campaign,” Larisa Yemelyanchik said. “Various programs are offered by cultural institutions. I would like to mention the Famous names of Motherland project of the Belarusian National Library which includes excursions and meetings with interesting people. A whole range of events will be dedicated to the European Games. All educational institutions have prepared information stands and will organize events to mark the upcoming events,” she added.

The 75th anniversary of Belarus' liberation from the Nazis and the Day of the Union State of Belarus and Russia will also be included into the events program. “This year celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Union State Treaty which will be also featured in curricular and extracurricular activities,”Larisa Yemelyanchik noted.

Larisa Yemelyanchik added that the 18th Research and Methodology Literature, Teaching Experience and Students' Art State Exhibition will be held in Minsk in mid April as part of the Year of Native Land program. The exhibition will display a large amount of methodological literature and the best practices in this area.
