Slavianski Bazaar organizers to go to Eurovision 2017 for fresh ideas

VITEBSK, 16 March (BelTA) – The organizers of the international arts festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk will go to Eurovision 2017 to look for fresh ideas, Slavianski Bazaar Director Alexander Sidorenko told reporters on 16 March, BelTA has learned.

A small delegation from Vitebsk will go to Kiev in May to get new experience. “The organizers of the music contest will arrange our presence at Eurovision so that we could see the process, learn something and maybe even give some advice. Personally, I am very interested in the approach to technical equipment and stage set-up. Several countries, media outlets invest their resources in this contest. Their experience and practices might be of use to us,” Alexander Sidorenko said.

The Vitebsk festival organizers will get a peek at the backstage world of Eurovision, see how the contestants feel on stage and during different Eurovision events, and study the program of their stay in Kiev. At the same time, Alexander Sidorenko emphasized that Slavianski Bazaar has a completely different format, and its contests differ greatly from Eurovision. Therefore, the experience that the delegation will get in Kiev will be used bearing in mind the special features of the international contest in Vitebsk.
